Monteagudo de las Vicarías is a historic town and also a municipality of the Province of Soria, judicial district of Almazán, Autonomous Community of Castile and León, Spain. It is a town in the comarca of Campo de Gómara.
Location
It is located 9 kilometers from exit 185 of the Nacional II, 199 km from Madrid and 139 km from Zaragoza. It lies in the Sorian comarca of Tierra de Medinaceli.[2]

History
In 1834 what was known as the Tierra de Monteagudo disappeared with the creation of the municipal councils, which entailed the abolition of the seigneuries.
At the fall of the Ancien Régime the town was constituted as a constitutional municipality, then known as Monteagudo, in the region of Old Castile, judicial district of Almazán,[3] which in the census of 1842 had 162 households and 652 residents.
At the end of the 20th century[4] the municipal territory grew because it incorporated Valtueña.
Since December 2019 the Sorian town has formed part of the association of The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain.[5]
Environment
The following sites in its territory are included in the Natura 2000 network:
- Special Protection Area for Birds known as Monteagudo de las Vicarías, occupying 7,055 hectares, 53% of its territory.[6]

In 2010 the population amounted to 238 inhabitants, 118 men and 120 women.[7]
