Summary

Description
English: An American-made Phaeton carriage (ca. 1890), used privately by President Hipólito Yrigoyen. Typically, the metal chassis was imported from the United States, while the wooden components were handcrafted in Argentina. It is a quintessential country carriage, featuring a lightweight body, large wheels, and a robust suspension—attributes that ensured excellent performance on the roads of that era. It is not a vehicle designed for comfort or long-distance travel; rather, it offers only the minimal protection of a folding hood, intended primarily as a shield against the sun. Mounted at the rear is a storage box, used for stowing items of moderate size.
